The first Sports Club/LA opened in Los Angeles. The 100,000 square foot Urban Country Club redefined the future of the fitness industry.
1984
Continuing to lead the industry as the first Clubs to offer private training.

The first club to offer Step classes. In order to elevate the level of Private Training available to Members, we became the first fitness club to require advanced and national certifications for our instructors.
1994
First to incorporate core strength training into group exercise programs and among the first to incorporate boxing and kickboxing into mainstream fitness.

1995
Reebok Sports Club/NY, at 140,000 square feet, opened its doors. We became the first Club to offer outdoor group exercise programs, dedicated Pilates studios, and live music accompaniment to group classes. At that time we also became one of the first Clubs to offer indoor group cycling through our proprietary REV™ program
1996
As an early adopter of balance boards, rollers and other specialized equipment selection on our Fitness Floors, we became the first Clubs to offer balance training with private trainers.

1997
At 150,000 square feet, and hailed as the most spectacular club ever built, the Sports Club/LA – Upper East Side opened to membership. This same year we opened our 100,000 square foot Club in Washington, DC. We installed cutting-edge audio and visual technology in group exercise studios and personalized television entertainment on every piece of cardio equipment.
2001
The Sports Club/LA - Boston opened its doors offering the power elite of Boston — a 114,000 square foot Club. That same year The Sports Club/LA San Francisco joined the growing family at 127,000 square feet.

2002
Further elevating our reputation for unparalleled private training, we became one of the first Clubs to have the National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Training Certification, the gold standard in Private Trainer education. Tone seems off too elitist
2006
Opened the Mind Body studios in The Sports Club/LA- Boston and San Francisco. These stunning studios were the first of their kind, offering authentic yoga studios far from the distractions of the city.

Opened the Mind Body studios in Reebok Sports Club/NY, a tranquil oasis from the hustle of New York City.
2009
Began offering social media to our growing community so that they could be a part of the Club outside of the bricks and mortar. Partnered with LinkedIn to host Member networking events.
